In order to achieve the fastest acceleration, manufacturers have reduced weight in any part possible such as a small capacity fuel tank, the most restrictive electrical switch system and no starter switch. In order to accelerate as quickly as possible off the start line, exit curves and fly over dirt, the Motocross will have a short gear ratio between gears.

You can tweak it a bit by changing the number of gears on the gear and sprocket, but in general the Motocross has a gearbox and disc gears that are not suitable for cruising at high speeds. Short gear ratios and large revs also cause the rider to pull the throttle to "harsh" continuously. This means loud noises, especially when the Motocross car has a minimalistic exhaust system with less noise filtering. If you want to use a Motocross for the Enduro race then the standard exhaust will need to be replaced to meet noise regulations.
